Penile Implants for Peyronie
Peyronie’s disease is a condition in which fibrous scar tissue forms in the deeper tissues under the skin of the penis causing it to bend or curve penis during erection. This can cause pain, deformity and erectile dysfunction. Peyronie disease symptoms might start suddenly or appear over time. The most common symtoms include scar tissues, a bend of the penis, erection problem, shortening of the penis, pain in the penis or other changes in how the penis looks. Physical changes in the penis often get worse or stay the same during the first year and half but pain during erection usually gets better within 1 to 2 years. The scar tissue, penile shortening and curving often remain.We had a gentleman visit us facing erection problem with peyronie’s disease, from Tamil Nadu, age 62. He noticed gradual bending during erection over past year. He was facing mild pain during sexual activity and was unable to maintain erection. We evaluated him and noticed that there was a fibrous plaques on upper side of his penis with left side curvature. The best treatment for him was penile implant surgery. Patient had already tried medication and other treatments however that didn’t give him satisfactory results.We showed him all the implant and shared each implants benefits, as per our suggestion and after complete understanding patient choose to undergo Rigi 10 penile implant surgery. The size of implant being Rigi 10 -11mm , right 18.5cm and left 19.5cms.He is happy with his results as we were also able to achieve his best erectile length and improve his penile curvature. He didn’t have issue anymore to maintain an erection nor had pain, he and his partner were able to have satisfactory intimate life.In such cases penile implant surgery can be very effective, implants not only restore erection but also helps straightening the curved penis. This then most definitely improves the sexual function and confidence of the patient.
