Cosmetic Circumcision for Toddlers
Cosmetic circumcision is a surgical procedure that removes the foreskin of the penis. Cosmetic circumcision is done for religious, cultural or medical reasons like phimosis or infection. A young 5 year old was brought to our hospital as he was facing difficulty during urinating, after evaluating we found that the child had tight foreskin also called as phimosis which was causing obstruction of urine flow.
We suggested circumcision procedure as that would help his condition. The little boy’s parents choose cosmetic circumcision as it is a traditional way. The surgery was quick and safe, he was admitted in the morning and was discharged the same day evening as circumcision is a day care procedure. The child was facing discomfort in the beginning few days but eventually there was minimal discomfort and he was able to return back to his normal activities.
As per his parents the little boy’s urination problem was completely resolved and they were satisfied with results.
